Just as mirror reflections of our outer selves are far from totality, so are social reflections of our
inner selves. The "quality" of image is contingent not only on our perceptual sensitivities, but also on the adequacy of the reflectors we choose, and more so, on that of the obligatory mediums - light and
language. Self-knowledge only begins with apprehending the illusional nature of the artifactual self.
